About Makiko Imato  

Makiko Imato, (M.Ost), is a registered osteopath and a massage therapist, with a vast knowledge and experience, in both her native country Japan and in the UK

 

She began her career as a beautician in 2000, back in Japan, working in some of the most prestigious hotels and spas. Here, she practiced a wide range of massage techniques and beauty treatments, while continuously developing her skills and exploring new techniques.

At this time, she became particularly interested in the muscular-skeletal system. Becoming aware from her experience as a therapist how many people are living with joint and muscle pain and the impact that has on their overall wellbeing, she became determined to deepen her understanding in this area.

This led her to study Osteopathy. She travelled to London to have the best possible education, studying at the British School of Osteopathy, the oldest osteopathic school in Europe, and completed a four-year master's degree in 2011.

After graduating , she worked as an Osteopath, treating a range of musculo-skeletal problems and conditions. After a while, she realised that people need treatments to prevent injuries and pain rather than treating the symptoms. Also, through her expertise as a beautician, she became enthusiastic about making a beautiful shape and silhouette in the body. She firmly believes that a body which is beautifully aligned functions at its best.

This eventually led her to develop her own treatment method of "Alignment massage", through combining Osteopathy and various massage techniques. 

This unique technique has been enthusiastically welcomed in her London clinic by those who are interested in realignment, keeping the body at its best in terms of functioning, posture and shape. This method has been proven  to be very effective.
